Post Commander's Message

Greetings Comrades and Sisters,

Don’t think March went out like a lamb with all the bad weather we have been having but April has now arrived. Hope everyone made it through the weather okay. With this our activities have not slowed down. The many activities of last month, along with the warm weather arriving early and the time springing forward has provided many great things happening in our area.

We have a full calendar of Meetings, Holidays, Birthdays and Fun. We start with April Fools on the 1st followed with our Wednesday’s breakfast’s at 10:00 hrs. The 11th will be our Post Meeting with no VPR this month. Then we have Easter on the next weekend followed by the District 14 Banquet and Meeting at VFW Post 3393 in Kempner on April 21-22, 2017. Always remember and support our Bingo on Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday with Karaoke on Fridays. We will have a BBQ Ribs, Bean, and Chicken Cook-Off on April 29, 2017. Hope to see everyone there!

We continue to be a great part of this community and in supporting of others to include the many volunteer hours that some of you put in at the VA in Temple and at Fort Hood supporting Veterans. Being part of the VFW means supporting the community we live so that others will see by our example and someday serve in the military as we have.

We want to welcome our new members to the Post please introduce yourself to them and welcome them. I encourage our new members to come and participate in the many activities at the Post this month, there is something for everyone. Please get out there and recruit new members.

Hope to see everyone at our next meeting on the 11th of April at 19:00 hrs. We will be taking nomination for Post Officers for our election this month. So please come out and support our election process. Thank you all again for your hard work and assistance in all we do here at VFW Post 4008.

Yours in Comradeship,

Loy Dean Gardner II

Post Commander
