Post Commander's Message

Greetings Comrades,

What a great hot summer we have had so far. It is my pleasure to be your commander and I take great pride in our Post as you do. First I want to thank everyone for all their support this last month. We had many events this past month to include our 4th of July Parade and Luncheon, State Officers Training, National Convention, and our 2nd Annual Emergency Responders Luncheon. Thanks to all who decorated rode on the float, cooked for both the 4th and the first responder’s luncheons.

This month we have our meeting early on the 8th and we are hosting the District 14 Organization Day on the 19th. Remember to come out and support our Bingo. Karaoke is still the hot thing on Friday nights.

We continue to be a great part of this community and in supporting of others to include the many volunteer hours that some of you put in at the VA in Temple, the USO on Fort Hood and supporting our Adopt-A-Unit 4/3 Calvary who has been a great partner. Being part of the VFW means supporting the community we live so that others will see by our example and someday serve in the military as we have.

We want to welcome our new members to the Post please introduce yourself to them and welcome them. I encourage our new members to come and participate in the many activities at the Post this month, there is something for everyone. Please get out there and recruit new members to help veterans all over. Always remember and support our Bingo on Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday and our ever popular Karaoke on Fridays.

Hope to see everyone at our next meeting on the 8th of August at 19:00 hrs. or earlier for the VPR at 18:50 hrs. Thank you all again for your hard work and assistance in all we do here at VFW Post 4008.

Yours in Comradeship

Post Commander

Gary Leofsky
