Post Commander's Message
Post Commander’s Message
Greetings Comrades and Sisters,
Hope you’re staying cool. What a hot month we had in July. We were busy July with the 4th, Officers Training on 11-14 July in Austin, 3rd Annual First Responders Luncheon on 27th and District Training hosted at our Post on the 28th. I want to thank the Officers and those who attended the District Training. We learned much and now it is time to put it into action.
We have many events this month followed by our Post Meeting on the 14th of August. With the start of local schools and the added needs of those around us we hope to assist others in our community. Many big decisions will be decided this next meeting so we hope that many will attend.
We continue to be a great part of this community and in supporting of others to include the many volunteer hours that some of you put in at the VA in Temple, the USO on Fort Hood and supporting our Adopt-A-Unit 4/3 Calvary who has been a great partner. Being part of the VFW means supporting the community we live so that others will see by our example and someday serve in the military as we have.
We want to welcome our new members to the Post please introduce yourself to them and welcome them. I encourage our new members to come and participate in the many activities at the Post this month, there is something for everyone. Please get out there and recruit new members to help veterans all over.
I want to thank everyone for their support for the second year of my command. Hope to see everyone at our next meeting on the 14th of August at 19:00 hrs. Thank you all again for your hard work and assistance in all we do here at VFW Post 4008.
Yours in Comradeship
