Chaplain Corner - May 2018

May 1, 2018

From the Chaplain’s Pen………………………………………....………………… Dr. Al Lowe

Here we go into May and of all things, the first thing on my agenda is The Kentucky Derby!  Although I am from Kentucky, went to college and seminary in Kentucky, pastored a church in Kentucky – I never went to see the running of the horses. I did run in a ½ Marathon in Louisville during the Runners Triple Crown, but no going to the Derby.  Been to a couple of Derby Parties – and do not plan to go to another – but not the horses.  I would say to you, watch it on the TV at your Post.

There are several District meetings during May, each electing their officers for the coming year.  Here in District14, our new Commander will be Loy Dean Gardner II. I know Loy, respect Loy, and will be proud and honored to be on his staff.  Here is a picture of Larry Sanders giving the obligation to the elected and appointed officers:

It is important for all Comrades to support their elected and appointed officers. Take part in your activities at your Post and the District meetings. And as you can, bring another veteran into the fold.

Blessings,

Chaplain

Al Lowe
