Chaplain Corner - October 2018

From the Chaplain’s Pen………………………………………....………………… Dr. Al Lowe
Are there things you do not like? I have a few things I do not like. I do not like being told an untruth. I do not like complaining about the incompletion of a job, or the intentionally doing the job incorrectly. I do not like some of the thing’s others might like – especially this past week as I was watching the Senate’s debate on the Supreme Courts Judge.
But I cannot dwell on the things I do not like. Generally, that turns out to be something I cannot control and ultimately a waste of time. So, I wish to think about the things I do like. More than like, I actually love all Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Marines. I love their commitment to their mission and the quality in which they do it. I truly love the sacrifice of these Great Americans and their families. I love it that they will give of their time and effort for the betterment of our country.
Thinking of my country, I love my country. I love our flag and those who will stand and salute it, those who show honor and respect to the National Colors. I love the mission which God has given me to share the gospel to the military.
And I love my wife, children and grandchildren. I love the veterans of the VFW and what we do, that for which we stand. Finally, I love the opportunity to invite you to share your love by becoming a Comrade of the VFW.
When I get to thinking about it, there is so much more I love and not. How about you.
Bible Verse Of The Month
Matthew - Chater 5 - Verses -11-12
"Blessed are you when people insult you,
persecute you and falsely say all kinds of
evil against you because of me. Rejoice and
be glad, because great is your reward in heaven,
for in the same way they persecuted the prophets
who were before you."
