Post Commander’s Message

Greetings Comrades and Sisters,

Great start to the year with hosting the District 14 Meeting at the end of January and attending Mid-Winter in Austin. Thanks for all your support and attendance to these important meetings.

We have a full month in February with the Super Bowl on the 4th and Presidents Day later in the month.  If you don’t have anything else going on, please come out to our Bingo and Karaoke is still the hot thing on Friday nights. This month our meeting is at 7:00 p.m. on the 13th.

We continue to be a great part of this community and in supporting of others to include the many volunteer hours that some of you put in at the VA in Temple, the USO on Fort Hood and supporting our Sponsor Unit 4/3 Calvary who has been a great partner.  Our Next Buddy Poppy event is on the 16th of February at the VA in Temple from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. George will be cooking so show up early if you want a taste. Being part of the VFW means supporting the community we live so that others will see by our example and someday serve in the military as we have.

We want to welcome our new members to the Post please introduce yourself to them and welcome them. I encourage our new members to come and participate in the many activities at the Post this month, there is something for everyone. Please get out there and recruit new members to help veterans all over.

Hope to see everyone at our next meeting on the 13th of February at 7:00 p.m. or earlier for the VPR at 6:50 p.m. Thank you all again for your hard works and assistance in all we do here at VFW Post 4008.

Yours in Comradeship

Post Commander
