Henry T. Waskow Post 4008 Scholarship
CPT Henry T. Waskow
Henry T. Waskow Post 4008 is proud to announce that we have established a $25,000.00 scholarship in honor of our Post. We have been working on this project for six months. We form a Scholarship Committee lead by CDR John Pratt with Dennis Batten, Al Lowe, Loy Gardner II and Larry Youngblood.
The committee members meet monthly to come up with an agenda that met the needs of our Post. We talked with the surrounding schools and we decided to work with Belton Independent School District. John, Al and Dennis meet with the Belton Educational Enrichment Foundation (B.E.E.F.) to discuss how, when and where to meet our requirements for a scholarship with them. In turn we found out their requirements too. Finally at our March Post meeting the membership gave approval for the scholarship with Belton ISD. At a presentation on April 7, 2015 at the Belton ISD office we presented a check of $25,000.00 to B.E.E.F.
A special thanks go out to our Post Scholarship Committee and Belton ISD B.E.E.F program.
This scholarship will allow us through the B.E.E.F. program to hand out a $1,000 scholarship indefinite for the students. Each year we will post the name of the scholarship winner.
Here is some information on the Belton Educational Enrichment Foundation.
The Belton Educational Enrichment Foundation was founded in 1991 as an independent, non-profit corporation established to enhance the quality education of all students and to help ensure student success. The B.E.E.F. Board oversees an endowment fund that will provide an ongoing source of funding to enhance the opportunities for students and staff of the Belton school district through scholarships and teacher grants.
BEEF is governed by an elected Board of Directors who represent various segments of the Belton community. The Board's primary purpose is to work together with the District to ensure student success.
