Post Commander's Message

Greetings Comrades and Sisters,

As this starts my term as Commander I want to thank all for your trust in me and my officers for the great Henry T. Waskow Post 4008. In keeping with the Waskow tradition I give you my pledge to do my best for the Post. I want to thank Loy Gardner for his support and look forward to his and other previous commander’s guidance and wisdom for this next year. I want to thank you all in advance for your support of this Post and the great year ahead of us all.

We had many events this past month to include our State Convention, Flag Day and Army Birthday cake cutting.

This month we have the 4th of July Parade. Come out and decorate and ride on the float and don’t forget about the luncheon with hotdogs and hamburgers at the Post Home. Remember to come out and support our Bingo. Karaoke is still the hot thing on Friday nights. On the 13th through the 16th we will have Officer Training and our Post meeting on Tuesday the 11th. On the 29th we will have our 2nd annual Emergency Services Honor Luncheon. Later in the month we will send our representative to the National Convention in New Orleans LA.

We continue to be a great part of this community and in supporting of others to include the many volunteer hours that some of you put in at the VA in Temple. Being part of the VFW means supporting the community we live so that others will see by our example and someday serve in the military as we have.

We want to welcome our new members to the post please introduce yourself to them and welcome them. I encourage our new members to come and participate in the many activities at the post this month, there is something for everyone. Please get out there and recruit new members to help veterans all over. Always remember and support our Bingo on Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday and our ever popular Karaoke on Fridays.

Hope to see everyone at our next meeting on the 11th of July at 19:00 hrs. or earlier for the VPR at 18:50 hrs. Thank you all again for your hard work and assistance in all we do here at VFW Post 4008.

Yours in Comradeship,

Post Commander

Gary Leofsky
